Born in Romford, Essex in 1955, I moved to my current location of Solihull, West Midlands in 1972, when my father was transferred in his job.
Talking of jobs, I've had several in my time, but I currently work for Travel West Midlands in Birmingham as a CCTV operator, which basically involves looking after the on-bus video recording equipment, changing tapes (it's not all digital just yet..!), collating footage of any incidents that may occur, etc. Incidentally, to quash any rumours, yes the cameras on the buses do work (well, most of the time..!)
My main interest is Amateur Radio; I've held the callsign of G6URP since 1983. One of my interests within the hobby is data communications; until recently I was the Sysop (System Operator) of the Solihull area Packet Radio Bulletin Board (BBS) GB7SOL (now sadly defunct).
I'm also very interested in mobile operation, and I can often be heard on the air from both my car and also my bike..! You'll mainly hear me on the Central Birmingham UHF repeater, callsign GB3CB, which can be found on 433.350 MHz FM, although I can sometimes be found on the 2m band from the car (no VHF on the bike as yet..!)
Apart from amateur radio, my other main interest is motorcycling. I've just bought a new bike, a Honda CBF 600S; there are a few photos on the bikes page, more to come soon.
I must admit to being a fair-weather biker, which will no doubt annoy a few of you, but I ride a bike because I enjoy it, and I don't enjoy getting wet..! I tend to be busy elsewhere on Sundays these days, so I don't get down to the Waterside (or rather the somewhat soulless Bridgefoot bike park that's replaced it) in Stratford-upon-Avon much any more, but I might be there on Bank Holidays, so keep an eye open..!

As you may have gathered from the main page, I'm also mad keen on cats..! In December 2002, I adopted an eight year old black and white cat from the Cats Protection Birmingham Shelter, where I now also do some volunteer work :-) Her name is Missy and she's absolutely gorgeous :-)
Here are some photos of her; the pictures on this page will be added to as time goes by, so please do keep an eye on things.

Another of my interests is live music, mainly Americana - my current favourites are Eve Selis and Lisa Sanders, both of whom feature on the main page of this site, you can read more there. Eve has been over to the UK several times on tour, where she's bowled over almost everyone who's heard and seen her..! Do take a look at this amazing lady, she's been tipped for the big time by no less a person than Bob Harris of BBC Radio 2, I'm truly proud to call her a friend :-)
I'm always interested to hear from visitors to my site..!
Send mail to me here. Or, you can sign or view my guestbook.
Or, if you really want to get bored silly, you can also read my weblog..!
Please note that due to the increased amount of "spam" mail that I'm receiving, only mail from known friends and contacts will be replied to, unless the mail comes via the on-line form. I'm really sorry that this has become necessary, but as usual the minority spoil it for everyone else.
